Award season is upon us and none of them are bigger than the Academy Awards. The prestigious award show gives the stars an opportunity to wear their best ensemble, all the while hoping to win that coveted gold trophy.
Oscars, as they are more commonly known, is home to high fashion and the attendees go out of their way to look glamorous for the mega-event. The 85thedition of the Oscar awards was no different. The event featured the best in the business dressed in fairy tale inspired dresses from some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Strapless gowns with simple necklines and anchored dresses were a big hit this time around with the younger actresses.
Here’s a look at some of the most fashionable stars that attended the award show, and dazzled us with their beauty, charm and of course their beautiful red carpet looks:
Jennifer Lawrence – Dior Haute Couture
The most glamorous star of the night, without a doubt, was the 22-year old Jennifer Lawrence. Not only was her pink Dior Haute Couture a big hit with the attendees, but she also got to take home the Best Actress in a Leading Role Award for her magnificent performance in Silver Linings Playbook. The actress is on top of her game, both in terms of red carpet looks and movie roles.
Jessica Chastain – Armani
The Zero Dark Thirty nominee pulled off a hard look at the Oscars, and like her movie role she pulled it off with perfection. Chastain, 35, wore a dreamy flesh colored Armani gown which made her look like an old movie star. Her loosely tied strawberry blonde hair completed the look.
Kerry Washington – MiuMiu
The Django Unchained star went strapless as well. Kerry wore a beautiful MiuMiu gown complete with plenty of bling to compliment her look. The solid bottom half and the shiny top went perfectly with her Chopard jewels.
Naomi Watts – Armani
Another Oscar nominee and another Armani dress. Naomi wore a beautiful gunmetal grey Armani gown which was a huge risk, but not for this star. The off-center cut along the bust line look went well with her earrings and watch.
Amanda Seyfried – Alexander McQueen
Seyfried is the hottest new star in Hollywood right now, and her fashion choice at the Oscars spoke volumes of her talent. The 27-year looked gorgeous in a grey Alexander McQueen dress which fit perfectly on her figure. The young stars jeweled overlay was especially noteworthy and stood out from the crowd.
Anne Hathaway – Prada
Anne Hathaway, like Jennifer Lawrence, was one of the big winners at the Oscars. Not only did she win a Best Actress in a Supporting Role award but also impressed her fans with a pale pink Prada satin gown complete with jewelry from Tiffany’s, a square neckline and bodice. The feminine look went well with her short hair do.
Adele – Jenny Packham
Not only can Adele sell Concert Tickets rapidly, but can also turn heads with a stunning red carpet look. The music sensation performed her hit single “Skyfall” from the blockbuster James Bond movie of the same name all the while wearing a classic sparkling dress from British designer Jenny Pachkam. But that’s not all, the talented vocalist walked away with the Best Original Song award at this year’s Oscars.
Jennifer Hudson – Roberto Cavalli
Jennifer Hudson mesmerized the attendees in a blue Roberto Cavali dress featuring a high slit complete with Jimmy Choo’s.
Nicole Kidman – L’Wren Scott
Nicole always manages to look stunningly beautiful at the Oscars. This year’s event was no different. The talented actress chose to wear a stunning black and gold L’Wren Scott dress which looked gorgeous on her slender figure.
Amy Adams – Oscar De La Renta
Amy Adams might not have won in her nominated category, but she stole the show with an Oscar De LaRenta dress which seemed to have jumped out of a fairy tale. Amy’s swept up hair and a blue silk organza skirt made her look ultra-feminine and gorgeous.
CharlizeTheron – Dior
A short super short haircut is not easy to pull off, but Charlize did it with ease all the while wearing an amazing V-cut white Dior gown featuring a sexy neckline.
